UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The second episode of the Big Ten Network's newest original program, Path to the Pros, will debut at 8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 31.. The four-episode series follows four Big Ten football players, including Penn State All-American Stefen Wisniewski (Bridgeville), as they prepare for the NFL Draft.
Each 30-minute show will take viewers behind the scenes as the NFL hopefuls prepare for the next level of their careers, including completing individual workouts, attending meetings and being interviewed.
The former Big Ten players joining Wisniewski in the series are J.J. Watt (Wisconsin), Quentin Davie (Northwestern), Dane Sanzenbacher (Ohio State). Thursday's episode will re-air at 10:30 p.m.
In the second episode, Wisniewski returns to his high school to deliver some life advice to the Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School football team, Davie feels the pressure to perform well at Northwestern's Pro Day, Sanzenbacher works to improve his 40-yard time and Watt goes under the microscope at his on-campus Pro Day in Madison.
Wisniewski is among the most distinguished Penn State Football student-athletes in the program's 124-year history. He is the first Nittany Lion Football student-athlete to be selected a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-American®, earning first team honors from 2009 and 2010. He finished second in balloting for the 2010 Academic All-American® of the Year in college football. Wisniewski finished with a 3.90 cumulative grade point average, earning his degree in secondary education this past December.
Wisniewski gained six All-America recognitions following the 2010 season, earning first-team honors from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and Scout.com. He also was selected an Associated Press second-team All-American, joining previous second-team accolades from the Walter Camp Football Foundation, CBSsports.com and Rivals.com.
A starter in 38 of the last 39 games of his stellar career, Wisniewski earned first-team All-Big Ten accolades in 2009 and 2010. The former Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School standout became the first Nittany Lion to earn first team All-America and Academic All-America® accolades in the same season since another former Western Pennsylvania standout, linebacker Paul Posluszny (2005 and '06).
Also this weekend, the Big Ten Network will air the Big Ten Men's Gymnastics Championships live from Champaign, Ill. The team finals are at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, April 1 and the individual finals are at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 2. Penn State will be seeking its third Big Ten crown.
