BATON ROUGE, La. - Penn State shot consistent rounds of 305 (610) in the first two rounds of play at the LSU Invitational placing them tied for ninth and 23 strokes behind first place No. 45 Michigan.
Senior T.J. Howe (Osceola, Pa.) continues to take lead this spring season, firing rounds of 72-71 (143) placing him in fifth, only six strokes behind Chattanooga's Stephan Jaeger. Jaeger leads with a 5-under par 137 (70-67).
Senior Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Conn.) sits tied for 33 with a two-round total of 153 (74-79). The sophomore duo of Jay Woodward (Bridgeport, W.Va.) and Ernesto Marin (Miami, Fla.) is separated by one stroke. Woodward will go into the final round tied for 48 with rounds of 79-78 (157) with Marin following in 50th posting rounds of 81-77 (158). Sophomore Anthony DeGol (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) is tied for 57 with a 19-over par total of 163 (80-83).
