Challenging Field Awaits Men's Golf at Inverness Intercollegiate

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team will travel to Toledo, Ohio to participate in the Inverness Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 26-27, at the par-71, 7,255-yard Inverness Club.

Penn State will join three Big Ten foes; No. 23 Ohio State, No. 34 Michigan and Michigan, in addition to host-school Toledo, No. 6 Florida, No. 32 Kent State, No. 33 Liberty, East Tennessee State, Kentucky and South Alabama on the 11-team field for the 54-hole tournament.

Penn State has competed against three additional Big Ten teams this season at the Gopher Invitational, falling in second to Iowa in the conference lineup. With this tournament, the Nittany Lions will have another opportunity to compete against conference schools, along with some nationally ranked competition.

The Nittany Lion lineup will consist of senior Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Conn.), juniors Anthony DeGol (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) and Ernesto Marin (miami, Fla.), sophomore Shane Stewart (Dublin, Ohio) and freshman Xander McDonald-Smith (Rockaway Park, N.Y.), who will be stepping into the lineup for the first time. Junior Jay Woodward (Bridgeport, W.Va.) will compete as an individual.

Play will commence at 9:00 a.m. on Monday with a shotgun start. Live coverage will be available on Golfstat.
