UNIVERSITY PARK, PA.; Oct 24, 2011 - Penn State will hold the fifth annual HUB Student Season Basketball Ticket Sale Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Alumni Hall and main entrance of the Hetzel Union Building.

Penn State students will be treated to free popcorn and cotton candy throughout the day as well as grilled stickies from The Diner in the morning and free Quizno's subs at lunch during the event in which students may purchase Nittany Lion basketball student season tickets or pick up the tickets they have already ordered. Season ticket packages to see new head coach Patrick Chambers and the 2011-12 Nittany Lions are $59 and include a free Nittany Nation T-shirt.

Alumni Hall will feature games and contests as well as chances to win numerous prizes including Penn State Skull Candy headphones and Nike windbreakers as well as visits from current Nittany Lion players and members of the coaching staff.

Once purchased, student season tickets will be loaded onto student ID cards allowing Penn State students to swipe in to enter the Jordan Center for games. Each of the Nittany Lions' home games is a Code Blue event worth one point. The Code Blue BLAST game, worth three points, for Nittany Lion basketball is the Jan. 31 contest vs. Wisconsin.

Penn State will also be collecting registrations at the HUB for the fifth annual THON Dodgeball Tournament sponsored by Nittany Lion basketball. This year's expanded field will include 160 teams for the event held at the Penn State Multi-Sport Complex on Sunday, Nov. 6. Entry fee is $60 per team with all proceeds benefitting THON 2012. THON Dodgeball has raised over $32,000 for the Four Diamonds Fund in its first four years. If availability remains following Wednesday's sign-ups, interested teams are asked to contact Loren Crispell via e-mail (lnc109@psu.edu) or phone (814-865-8140).

The Nittany Lions reached the championship game of the 2011 Big Ten Tournament and went on to play in the 2011 NCAA Tournament in Tucson, Arizona. Experienced junior guard Tim Frazier (Houston, Texas) returns from that team to help lead the charge. Frazier emerged as a potent scorer and distributor in Penn State's late season surge toward the 2011 NCAA Tournament, posting 10.0 points, 5.9 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game over the Lions' final 11 games. The 6-1 junior returns as one of the top guards in the Big Ten after ranking third in conference games with 5.5 assists per game and second with a 2.36 assist-to-turnover ratio. Frazier, who has played in every game the last two seasons, posted a stellar 22-point, eight-rebound, six-assist effort in Penn State's Big Ten Tournament semifinal victory over Michigan State and had 15 points in an NCAA Tournament loss to Temple, signaling his evolution as a front line scorer for the Lions.

Season tickets for Nittany Lion Basketball are $200 for adults, $170 for faculty/staff and seniors, $80 for youth (18 and under) and $59 for students. Lady Lion Basketball season tickets are $117 for adults, $91 for faculty/staff and seniors and $52 for youth. Penn State students will be admitted for free to Lady Lion basketball games beginning this season.

PNC Flex Books are also available again this year for $99. The Flex Book gives fans 12 vouchers, 10 that can be redeemed in any combination for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets throughout the year and two extra vouchers for the Nittany Lions' Coaches Vs. Cancer game on Feb. 11 vs. Nebraksa and the Lady Lions' Think Pink game on Feb. 26 vs. Minnesota.
