UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's lacrosse team was part of the more than 6,425 people who helped kick off the THON 2011 season when it participated in the 11th annual THON 5K at Penn State's University Park campus Sunday.
The annual 3.1 mile race supports THON's goal of raising funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. THON, which benefits The Four Diamond Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, has raised more than $78 million since its inception in 1973.
The largest student-run philanthropy in the world, THON 2012 will take place from Feb. 17-19, 2012 at the Bryce Jordan Center. For more information, visit THON.org.
