UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; - Regardless of where they're headed or who they will play, the Nittany Lions' bowl plans will become much clearer by 8:45 p.m. ET on Sunday, December 4.
Shortly following the nationally televised announcement, a priority ticket application period will begin and allow Nittany Lion Club members to apply for tickets through their online Account Manager, while the general public can submit applications via 1-800-NITTANY beginning Monday, December 5 at 10 a.m. Phone sales on all subsequent weekdays will occur from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The general public can purchase bowl tickets at www.GoPSUsports.com beginning Monday at 10 a.m.
Best seating locations will be assigned by NLC point totals for those who submit their applications during the priority application period, which concludes Wednesday, December 7 at 6 p.m. During the NLC priority application period, the general public may apply for a maximum of four (4) tickets and NLC members can apply for tickets with varying limits, based on their NLC annual giving level. Refer to the NLC website for bowl ticket limits: www.nittanylionclub.com.
At the conclusion of the priority period, allocations and assignments will begin with NLC members in descending point total order followed by requests by the general public in chronological order. The priority application period expires Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 6:00 p.m. All subsequent ticket orders will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis and will be limited to orders of a maximum of ten (10) tickets.
Tickets will be mailed on Tuesday, December 13.
Student bowl tickets will be available via a walk-up sale at the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office and, for the first time, via telephone at a time and date to be announced. Student Nittany Lion Club members will receive priority for ticket purchase and location. SNLC members are encouraged to have their membership card ready at the point of sale. There will be a two (2) ticket limit per student ID and tickets can be purchased with cash or credit card.
Students interested in buying bowl tickets should check Student Central (www.gopsusports.com/ot/studentcentral.html) and/or The Daily Collegian the week of Dec. 5 for the date and time of the sale. Walk-up sales will receive tickets at the time of purchase.
Penn State (9-3) and Wisconsin shared the first Big Ten Leaders Division title with 6-2 conference marks. The No. 23 Nittany Lions are eligible to participate in their 44th bowl game in program history. Penn State's 27 bowl victories are No. 3 in the nation and its 43 post-season appearances rank No. 8.
The Nittany Lions' winning percentage (65.1, 27-14-2) is No. 2 nationally among schools with at least 20 bowl appearances. Penn State leads all Big Ten teams in bowl wins and winning percentage and is No. 2 in bowl appearances.

Insight Bowl - Friday, Dec. 30 vs. Big 12 team in Tempe, Ariz. 8 p.m. MT
Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas - Saturday, Dec. 31 vs Big 12 team in Houston, 11 a.m. CT
TicketCity Bowl - Monday, January 2 vs. Conference USA/Big 12 in Dallas, 11 a.m. CT
Gator Bowl - Monday, January 2 vs. SEC team in Jacksonville, Fla. 1 p.m. ET
Outback Bowl - Monday, January 2 vs. SEC team in Tampa, Fla. 1 p.m. ET
Penn State has won four of its last six bowl appearances, with victories in the 2006 FedEx Orange Bowl (Florida State), 2007 Outback Bowl (Tennessee), 2007 Alamo Bowl (Texas A&M) and 2010 Capital One Bowl (LSU). The losses came in the 2009 Rose Bowl (USC) and 2011 Outback Bowl (Florida).
