FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - After two rounds of play at the Amelia National Intercollegiate co-hosted by North Florida and Georgia Southern at the par-72, 7,166-yard Amelia National Golf and Country Club, the Penn State men's golf team sits in ninth with rounds of 298-301 (599).
Juniors Jay Woodward (Bridgeport, W.Va.) and Ernesto Marin (Miami, Fla.) led the Nittany Lions with two-round totals of 149, placing the duo tied for 33. Marin tied his season-low score of 73 in the first round followed by a 4-over-par 76 in the second round. Woodward improved by one stroke between rounds posting scores of 75-74.
Junior Anthony DeGol (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) sits one stroke behind Woodward and Marin with a score of 150 (76-74), tying for 35. Senior Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Conn.) posted rounds of 74-84 (158) to go into the final round tied for 68. Rounding out the lineup, sophomore Shane Stewart tied for 76 with his scores of 86-77 (163).
North Florida holds on to first place on both the team and individual leader boards. The Ospreys hold a two-round total of 557 (279-278) with junior Sean Dale leading the team with rounds of 70-67 (137).
The final round will begin Tuesday at 7:45 a.m.
