Men's Golf to Compete at 14th Annual Fireline Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team will travel to Towson, Md. this weekend for the 14th annual Fireline Towson Invitational Tournament to be contested at the 6,659-yard, par-72 Prospect Bay Country Club, March 30 - April 1.

Penn State will face its largest field on the season, which will be composed of 21 Division I teams. The Nittany Lions will meet Bethune-Cookman, Binghamton, Canisius, Central Connecticut, Colgate, Cornell, Drexel, Fairfield, Fairleigh-Dickinson, Hartford, Lafayette, LIU, Loyola, Mt. St. Mary's, Navy, Northern Colorado, Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, St. Bonaventure, St. Peter's and host school Towson.

The tournament will mark Penn State's third of the spring season, having competed most recently in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate where the team tied for third. This weekend's lineup will be composed of senior Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Conn.), juniors Jay Woodward (Bridgeport, W.Va.) and Anthony DeGol (Hollidaysburg, Pa.), sophomore Shane Stewart (Dublin, Ohio) and freshman Xander McDonald-Smith(Rockaway Park, N.Y.).

Play will consist of 18 holes Friday, Saturday and Sunday with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. each day. For live scoring, please visit Golfstat.
