Women's Golf in 11th Place at Lady Buckeye

COLUMBUS, Ohio - After two rounds of competition at the Lady Buckeye Invitational, hosted by Ohio State, the Penn State women's golf team is in 11th place out of the 11 teams participating. The Nittany Lions carded a 77-over-par 653 (324-329) on The Ohio State University Golf Club's 6,268-yard, par-72 Scarlet Course. Penn State is four strokes behind 10th-place Illinois.

Junior Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) birdied four holes in the first two rounds of play and paced the Nittany Lions with an 11-over-par 155 (77-78). She is currently tied for 12th place. Classmate Jamie Lavin (Deerfield, Ill.) is tied for 46th place with a 19-over-par 163 (83-80).

Freshman Elyse Archambault (St-Jean-sur-Rich, Que.) carded a 167 (83-84) to finish the day tied for 54th place. Classmates Katlyn Elliott (Peterborough, Ont.) and Erin Michel (Mason, Ohio) each registered two-round scores of 170 as they finished in a tie for 60th place.

Host Ohio State posted a 29-over-par 605 (308-297) to lead all teams. The Buckeyes' Rachel Rohanna is even through two rounds with a 144 (75-69).

The final round of play will begin with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start on Sunday (April 22).
