SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Junior Anthony DeGol (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) and senior Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Conn.) of the Penn State men's golf team have been named to the Golf Coaches Association of America Division I PING All-Northeast Region Team, the organization announced.
A total of 155 student-athletes across six regions - Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2012.
A 2011 All-Northeast Region selection, DeGol registered three top-10 finishes during the season, including a third-place finish at the Fireline Towson Invitational March 30-31. The Hollidaysburg, Pa., native also tied for fourth on the team for most rounds played (22) and recorded a team-best 74.1 round average.
An East Norwalk, Conn., native, McDonagh competed in a team-high 29 rounds during the 2011-12 season and ranked second on the squad with a 75.2 strokes-per-round average. The three-time All-Northeast Region selection registered three top-15 finishes, including a season-best tie for seventh at the Hawkeye-TaylorMade Invitational April 14-15.
DeGol and McDonagh helped lead Penn State to four top-five finishes during the season.
