Women's Golf Tied for Second after First day at Yale Women's Fall Intercollegiate

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After Day one of the Yale Invitational, the Penn State women's golf team is in a tie for second place with Harvard. Penn State posted a first round score of 298 for a 10-over-par.

Junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) played an outstanding first round of golf, leading the Nittany Lions with a 1 over par-72 and finding herself in a tie for third place overall. Right behind Ceresko is fellow junior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) who is in a tie for seventh place after posting an opening round of 74, 2-over-par. Sophomore Elyse Archambault (St-Jean-sur-Rich, Que.) is just one shot behind Vosters, finishing the day with a 3-over-par and is in a tie for 11th place. Senior Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) finished her day with a 76, 4-over-par and is in a tie for 22nd place.

Nova Southeastern University jumped out to an early lead after Round One, finishing the day with a 292, 4 strokes over par. The individual leader is also from Nova Southeastern University, Linnea Johansson. She finished the day with a score of 71 and has a one shot lead over Ha Lee of Longwood University.

The second round is set for Saturday, Sept. 22, with the final round commencing on Sunday, Sept. 23.
