UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; September 25, 2012 - Big Ten Network's Tailgate 48 program was on campus for the Penn State-Temple football weekend and the show will debut on Wednesday, Sept. 26 on BTN.
The 30-minute program, hosted by Alex Curry and Jason Fisher, debuts Wednesday at 6 p.m., with re-airs at 7:30 and 11:00 p.m. Check www.BTN.com for additional airtimes.
In the show, coach Bill O'Brien is interviewed, Curry and Fisher enjoy breakfast at The Corner Room in downtown State College with members of Penn State's 1982 National Championship team and the new varsity men's hockey program is discussed with coach Guy Gadowsky. Also, Lady Lion basketball coach Coquese Washington puts Fisher through some drills.
Other features include multiple visits to Nittanyville, where Curry and Fisher witness first-hand the race to grab a front row seat in Beaver Stadium, a tour of the Berkey Creamery and a lesson on grilled stickies from Ye Olde College Diner. The show concludes with visits to the Overnight RV Lot for some Friday night tailgating, the team's arrival at Beaver Stadium and action from the Nittany Lions' 24-13 win over Temple.
BTN is airing more than 110 Penn State events this year, in addition to coverage from 15 conference championships. BTN will televise the Penn State at Iowa football game at 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 20, with at least one additional Nittany Lion game set to air on BTN this season.
BTN is available to more than 80 million homes through agreements with more than 300 cable, satellite and telco providers in all 50 states and Canada. BTN, though, is not carried in Pennsylvania by Adams Cable and Blue Ridge Cable. The network also is not available to Armstrong Cable customers in western Pennsylvania and the Medina and Youngstown, Ohio areas. A combined total of more than 35,000 Penn State alumni live in communities served by the three cable providers, in addition to thousands more fans and current Penn State students.
O'Brien's Nittany Lions (2-2) begin their 20th Big Ten campaign Saturday at Illinois (2-2). Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT/12:00 p.m. ET on ESPN and the Penn State Sports Network.
