UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's golf team continued the great golf, finishing day one at the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate in a tie for first place. Penn State as a team shot a total of 291, finishing three over par 72. The Nittany Lions are in a tie for first with Texas A&M.
Junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) picked up where she left off, being in a tie for fifth place. She shot a 71, one shot under par for the day. Her teammate, sophomore Catherine Herrera (Houston, TX.) shot a first round73, one over par and is in a tie for 12th place. Sophomore Elyse Archambault (St-Jean-sur-Rich, Que.) also shot a 73 and is tied with Herrera in 12th place. Senior Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) and junior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) are tied for 22nd place, both carding a 74, two over par 72.
Day two of the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate is taking place tomorrow, Saturday October 13, with tee times beginning at 9:00 a.m. Live scoring can be found on www.golfstat.com
