UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The fourth ranked Penn State women's soccer team (14-2-0, 8-0-0) earned its ninth consecutive victory on Sunday afternoon, knocking off the Iowa Hawkeyes by a count of 2-1. Junior Taylor Schram (Canonsburg, Pa.) scored both Penn State goals, which included the game-winner in the 56th minute.

Schram records her first multi-goal game of the season and has tallied four scores in her last three contests. Senior Erin McNulty (Winnipeg, Manitoba) made five saves in net. Penn State has never dropped a point to Iowa, owning an 18-0-0 mark against the Hawkeyes. In the 18 meetings with Iowa, Penn State has out-scored the Hawkeyes, 67-9.

Just three minutes into the contest, Schram gave the Nittany Lions a quick 1-0 edge. Redshirt sophomore Emily Hurd (Sammamish , Wash.) crossed a ball into the box and found Hurd. The junior chipped it in for the quick score and early Penn State lead.

Despite the early score for Penn State, Iowa would answer right back in the 18th minute. Cloe Lacasse, who is tied for second in the Big Ten in goals scored, notched her 12th score of the season. Ashley Catrell's thru ball to Lacasse led to a breakaway and easy score to tie the game up at one.

Just 11 minutes into the second half, Schram put the Nittany Lions back ahead and this time for good. Junior Maya Hayes (West Orange, N.J.) provided the assist for Schram, who knocked it in from four yards out.
