Basketball Student Ticket Sale At HUB

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA.; Oct. 15 , 2012 - Penn State basketball will bring a week full of prizes, free food and fun to the Penn State HUB Oct. 15-19 for the annual Basketball Student Season Ticket Sale.

Penn State basketball representatives will be at the HUB main entrance from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday giving students a chance to purchase their season basketball tickets and win prizes ranging from autographed team posters and Gatorade water bottles and towels to "Attitude" wristbands and Penn State ONE TEAM t-shirts. Students can also enjoy a wide offering of free food throughout the week including McDonald's coffee and breakfast sandwiches on Monday morning. Free popcorn, grilled stickies from the Diner and more food is slated throughout the week.

Penn State students can purchase men's basketball season tickets for $40 and can pay with cash, credit card or LionCash. Tickets include admittance to all 17 Nittany Lion basketball home games in the 2012-13 season as well as the exhibition game. Students will have courtside seating for 13 home games during school sessions, including Big Ten match-ups with pre-season top 25 ranked teams Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State as well as Northwestern, Nebraska, Purdue and Iowa. Student season ticket holders will be able to claim free endzone seats for match-ups with Bucknell, New Hampshire, Duquesne and Wisconsin, which occur outside of the school semesters.

Student season ticket holders receive a free Nittany Nation t-shirt, early admission to the Bryce Jordan Center throughout the season, invitations to two open team practices, and participation in two student season ticket holder "Dollar Dog Nights."

Penn State coach Patrick Chambers is entering his second season and will welcome back first-team All-Big Ten guard Tim Frazier (Houston, Texas). The senior will lead a Penn State team that returns four players that started at least 16 games last year and its top two scorers. Joining Frazier, who finished second in the Big Ten at 18.8 ppg, will be junior guard Jermaine Marshall (Etters, Pa.), who posted 10.8 ppg last year, and Southern Mississippi transfer D.J. Newbill (Philadelphia, Pa.), who sat out last season after posting 9.2 ppg and 6.2 rpg as a freshman for the Golden Eagles in 2010-11. Penn State will return 70 percent of its scoring, 60 percent of its rebounding and 78 percent of its assists from Chamber's first team.
