UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - After a break for final exams, the #11/10 Penn State Lady Lions (9-2) close out their non-conference schedule when they host NJIT (6-5) at 1:30 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center Sunday as part of a doubleheader with the men's basketball team. Fans can get admission to both games with just a $5 general admission ticket. The Nittany Lion basketball squad will take on New Hampshire at 11 a.m.
PROMOTIONS: It's two games for a $5 general admission ticket for the men's game against New Hampshire at 11 a.m. and the Lady Lions' contest against NJIT at 1:30 p.m. Additionally, kids 12 and younger that turn in their coloring page from Majic 99 and Froggy 101 will get free admission to the twinbill. The coloring sheet can be found on the Majic 99 (majic99.com) or Froggy 101 (bigfroggy101.com) websites.

LAST TIME OUT: The Lady Lions earned a 60-50 victory over South Dakota State Dec. 16. Senior point guard Alex Bentley led the way for the Lady Lions with 13 points, a career-best nine rebounds and five assists. Senior Nikki Greene led all scorers with 17 points to go along with six rebounds. Junior Maggie Lucas scored nine points while recording a career-high four blocks and five steals. Senior Mia Nickson added nine points and five rebounds in the win.
SCOUTING NJIT: The Highlanders are 6-5 on the season heading into a Friday night game at VCU. Rayven Johnson averages a double-double with 18.0 points and 10.1 rebounds for NJIT, while Sarah Olson adds 10.8 points per outing. Uju Nwankwo accounts for 9.1 tallies per game and has recorded team-bests of 18 blocks and 14 steals. The Highlanders are solid on the defensive end as they rank 44th in the NCAA in scoring defense (53.4) and 35th in field goal percentage defense (.335).
ALL-TIME VS. THE HIGHLANDERS: The Lady Lions collected a 79-57 win over NJIT on Nov. 15, 2009. It is the only time in program history that Penn State has faced a team from the Great West Conference.
LAST TIME VS. NJIT: The Lady Lions used a strong second half to tally a 79-57 win over the Highlanders on Nov. 15, 2009 at the Bryce Jordan Center. Alex Bentley led four Penn State players in double figures with 16 points. Bentley narrowly missed a double-double with a team-high 16 points via a 6-for-11 effort from the field and nine assists. She also had two steals and two rebounds. Zhaque Gray added 14 points and a career-best six rebounds.
PICKING UP Ws IN THE BJC: With the win over South Dakota State Dec. 16, the Lady Lions extended their home court winning streak to 11 games, which is tied for the 15th-longest active streak in NCAA Division I. The Lady Lions last lost at home Jan. 7, 2012 to Michigan State.
BENTLEY JOINS ELITE CLUB: With five assists in the Dec. 16 win over South Dakota State, senior guard Alex Bentley became just the sixth player in program history to record 1,000 points, 500 assists and 250 steals in their career. Bentley joins Nancy Kuhl, Tina Nicholson, Jess Strom, Helen Darling and Suzie McConnell in the elite club. Additionally, Bentley became just the ninth player in school history to eclipse the 500-assist mark
GREENE CLIMBS BOARDS LIST: Senior center Nikki Greene moved up to eighth place on Penn State's career rebounding chart with six boards against South Dakota State. She now has 810 caroms, passing Amanda Brown (808; 2004-07) for the eighth position. Greene needs eight rebounds to tie Cheryl Ellison (818; 1980-83) for the seventh spot and 10 caroms to tie Mag Strittmatter (820; 1975-78) for sixth place.
AB MOVES UP TWO SCORING RUNGS: Senior point guard Alex Bentley upped her career scoring total to 1,474 tallies with 15 points against South Dakota State Dec. 16 and in the process, moved into 12th place on Penn State's career scoring list, passing Katina Mack (1,463; 1992-96) and Jess Strom (1,466; 2002-05). Bentley needs 40 points to tie Vicki Link (1,514; 1984-87) for 11th place and 64 tallies to move into the Top 10 in Lady Lion history, the 10th spot is occupied by Tanya Garner (1,538; 1988-91).
NON-CON HOME WINNING STREAK: The Lady Lions have won their last 12 non-conference home games, dating back to the 2010-11 season. The streak is tied for the third-longest non-conference home court winning streak in school history. Penn State last lost a home non-conference game against Drexel on Dec. 21, 2010.

The 2013 Pink Zone at Penn State will take place on Sunday, Feb. 24 as the Lady Lions take on Michigan in the Bryce Jordan Center. Last year, the Lady Lions donated a record $203,000 to breast cancer causes. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C.
