UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The #10/10 Penn State Lady Lions (6-2) will face their second straight Big East foe when Georgetown (7-2) comes to the Bryce Jordan Center for a noon tip on Sunday, Dec. 9. Sunday is the Annual Toys for Tots game for the Lady Lions. Fans that bring an new, unwrapped toy to the game will receive $5 off per ticket. The Lady Lions will also recognize the Big Ten Champion and National Runner Up Penn State women's soccer team with a pregame autograph session and halftime presentation. The game will air live on the Big Ten Network with Lisa Byington (PBP), Stephanie White (color) and Dave Leno (sideline) on the call.
WOMEN'S SOCCER PREGAME AUTOGRAPH SESSION: The Big Ten Champion and National Runner Up Penn State women's soccer team will be participating in a pregame autograph session on the concourse of the Bryce Jordan Center from 11:15-11:45 a.m. on Sunday. The team will also be recognized for their memorable season at halftime.
PROMOTIONS: The Georgetown game is the Annual Toys for Tots game for the Lady Lions. Fans that bring an new, unwrapped toy to the game will receive $5 off per ticket. In addition, the Lady Lions will celebrate Girl Scouts Day. It is also a Subway Full Court 4-Pack where fans will receive four reserved game tickets and one voucher for four 6" subs and four 21 oz. fountain drinks at any of the seven State College Subway locations for just $40!

LAST TIME OUT: The Lady Lions hung tough with the second-ranked Connecticut Huskies, but a 20-5 run late in the second half ended the Lady Lions' upset hopes on the way to a 67-52 loss at Gampel Pavilion Thursday night. Junior guard Maggie Lucas had a team-best 15 points with four rebounds, while fellow junior Ariel Edwards added 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting to lead the offensive effort. After scoring 19 points in the NCAA Tournament loss to UConn a year ago, senior Mia Nickson found success again with eight points, eight rebounds, two assists and three steals.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN: The Hoyas are 7-2 on the season and are riding a three-game winning strea. Leading the way for GU is dynamic guard Sugar Rodgers, who averages a team best 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game. Rodgers scored her 2,000th career point against Monmouth Tuesday night. Andrea White also contributes double figures for Georgetown, averaging 11.6 points per outing.
ALL-TIME VS. THE HOYAS: The Lady Lions are 3-1 all-time against Georgetown with wins in the last two match-ups. Penn State is 2-1 in home games against the Hoyas, including a 56-47 win in the BJC on Dec. 9, 2007. The Lady Lions are 99-54 all-time against current Big East members.
LAST TIME VERSUS GU: Five years ago, to the day, the Lady Lions used a balanced scoring attack and tough defense to post a 56-47 victory over Georgetown on Dec. 9, 2007. Kam Gissendanner notched her third career double-double with 10 points and a career-best 17 rebounds, while Rashida Mark registered her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 boards. Brianne O'Rourke finished with a team-best 12 points and Tyra Grant had a solid all-around performance with 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a blocked shot.
SPELL RELIEF A-R-I: Junior guard/forward Ariel Edwards has supplied a spark off the bench for the Lady Lions since being replaced by Dara Taylor in the starting lineup. Edwards is averaging 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals in the last two games. She is also shooting 70.5% (12-of-17) in those contests.
GREENE GETS #900: Senior center Nikki Greene surpassed the 900-point plateau at #2/2 Connecticut Dec. 6. Greene's two points against the Huskies brought her career total to 901 markers. With 99 more tallies, she will be the 35th player in school history to reach 1,000 points.
LEADING THE HUSKIES: The Lady Lions led the second-ranked Connecticut Huskies on two occasions for a total of 31 seconds in their Dec. 6 game. To that point, the Huskies had only trailed for a total of 17 seconds in their season opener against College of Charleston. Penn State also forced UConn into a season-high 20 turnovers.

Single game tickets for the Lady Lions are on sale now. Tickets are $15 and $12 for adults and seniors and $9 and $7 for youth (12 and younger). Lady Lion Basketball season tickets are still available by calling 1-800-NITTANY. Season tickets are $99 for adults and $50 for youth (12 and under), this includes a Nittany Lion Kids Club Membership for 2012-13. The PNC Flex Books are available again this year for $99. The Flex Book gives fans 12 vouchers, 10 that can be redeemed in any combination for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets throughout the year and two extra vouchers for the Nittany Lions' Coaches Vs. Cancer game and the Lady Lions' Pink Zone game.
The 2013 Pink Zone at Penn State will take place on Sunday, Feb. 24 as the Lady Lions take on Michigan in the Bryce Jordan Center. Last year, the Lady Lions donated a record $203,000 to breast cancer causes. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C.
