UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's soccer team has announced its spring schedule. This spring, the Nittany Lions will play four contests, including two against teams from the newly created National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Additionally, one home contest is featured on April 19.
Penn State will open up the spring slate with a match against the Washington Spirit at 4 p.m. at the Maryland Soccerplex in Germantown, Md. Admission is free to the contest for all fans interested in attending. The Nittany Lions are one of four NCAA Division I teams the Spirit will compete against the spring along with Duke, Virginia and North Carolina.
The Nittany Lions will next head to Rochester, N.Y. to take on the WNY Flash, also of the NWSL, on March 23rd at Sahlen's Park, home of the Flash and Rochester Rhinos. Penn State will head back to the state of Maryland on April 13 to take on the University of Virginia in Ellicott City for the Headers for Hope Tournament.
The home contest features Syracuse University on April 19 at 6 p.m. at the friendly confines of Jeffrey Field.

Winners of 15-straight Big Ten title, Penn State posted its second-straight 20-win season and advanced to the 2012 College Cup Title game for the first time in school history. The Nittany Lions appearance in the championship game was just the second appearance by a Big Ten school in the national championship.
