Men's Golf Heads to Indiana for Big Ten Championships

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team is set to compete at the Big Ten Championships in French Lick, Ind. April 26-28. The Nittany Lions will contend at the par-72, 7,152-yard Pete Dye Course.

Penn State starters for the championships will include seniors Anthony DeGol (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) and Jay Woodward (Bridgeport, W. Va.) and sophomore Xander McDonald-Smith (Rockaway Park, N.Y.). In addition, the freshmen duo of Chris Houston (Gilford, N.H.) and JD Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.) will compete for the Lions. Dornes is looking to continue his hot streak after tying-for-first at the Rutherford Intercollegiate April 20-21.

Tee times are slated to begin on Friday, April 26 at 8 a.m. The Nittany Lions are scheduled to tee off in the first round from 9:20 a.m. to 9:52 a.m., followed by second round times ranging from 2:20 to 2:52 p.m.

The tournament will be a 72-hole, four-round format occurring over the course of three days. In 2012, Penn State placed eighth overall shooting a 1216 team total at the Pete Dye Course. Illinois took the 2012 championships and will be looking to defend their crown at this year's event.
