UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Redshirt-sophomore Connor Curry (Newport Beach, Calif.) earned a spot on the Academic All-EIVA Team. Curry was one of 10 men's volleyball student-athletes from six of the eight member schools to be honored.
This is Curry's second career Academic All-EIVA award. Curry has been Penn State's starting libero for the past two seasons and is a two-time All-EIVA selection. In 2013 Curry leads the team in digs with 251, averaging 2.37 digs per set.
To be eligible for Academic All-EIVA laurels, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and have participated in at least 60 percent of the matches played by their team.
The Penn State men's volleyball team won their 25th overall and 15th consecutive EIVA Championship on April 27. The Nittany Lions defeated Princeton, 3-0, in the EIVA Semifinals before sweeping Harvard, 3-0, for the championship. Penn State garnered the No. 4 seed to the NCAA Championship and is set to face No. 1 BYU on Thursday, May 2 at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. The match will stream live on NCAA.com at 11 p.m. ET.
