Ryan Keiser Named Ironman of the Game for Kent State Shutout

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -

Safety Ryan Keiser has been named this week's Iron Workers Local Union No.3 "Ironman of the Game." On Saturday, he dominated with three pass break ups, one sack, four tackles and his first career interception against Kent State.

In the 2012 season, Keiser saw action in every game for the second consecutive year. He played holder (all 62 placements) as well as special teams and defense. The Nittany Lion received recognition for his academic performance earning Dean's List with a 3.76 GPA as well as Academic All-Big Ten that year.

Keiser saw action in every game his sophomore year (2011) as holder on placements and playing on special teams. He recorded six tackles and played 102 snaps that season.

This week's "Ironman of the Game" was a redshirt his freshman season.

The former Selinsgrove High School student was named to the PA Football News Class AAA all-state first-team following his junior (defensive back) and senior (wide receiver) seasons. As a senior, he recorded 61 passes for 1,144 yds and 16 touchdowns. His concluded his high school career with a total of 2,425 receiving yards, 35 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Keiser also played basketball and baseball in which he served as a team captain for all three sports.
