CJ Olaniyan Named Ironman of the Game for Performance Against Michigan

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -

Defensive end C.J. Olaniyan has been named this week's Iron Workers Local Union No. 3 "Ironman of the Game." On Saturday, he set a career-high of eight tackles (2.5 for loss) and 2.5 sacks. In addition, the Nittany Lion forced his first career fumble. Olaniyan currently totals 16 tackles this season.

In addition to this honor, Olaniyan has also been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and Highmark Student-Athlete of the Week.

In 2012, he saw action in 10 games. His first career start was at Beaver Stadium against Temple where he completed four tackles. Overall, Olaniyan tallied 15 tackles, one sack, and two pass break-ups that season.

The Michigan native's sophomore season (2011) included action in six games including a total of six tackles. The 2010 season was a redshirt season for this week's Ironman.

The former Warren Mott High School student was ranked No. 14 defensive end by rivals.com and a four-star prospect. He recorded a total of 71 tackles and 13.5 sacks with one interception in his senior season.
