Penn State Wrestling Radio Network Continues to Expand

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State Wrestling Radio Network continues to expand, offering an extensive reach across the state for live dual meet broadcasts and the weekly Penn State Wrestling Radio Show. In addition, continued live streaming as part of www.GoPSUsports.com's All-Access package gives Nittany Lion wrestling continued world-wide reach.

Headlining a seven-station network for live dual action, Forever Broadcasting's WRSC FM /AM will once again serve as the flagship destination for Penn State Wrestling, carrying the entire season live. WRSC 103.1 FM will carry nearly every match this year (with only four duals being carried by 1390 AM alone). The shift to FM for almost the entire season greatly increases Forever's reach for 2013-14. WRSC's flagship coverage is as follows:

Airing on both 103.1 FM and 1390 AM: Nov. 16 vs. Rider; Dec. 21 vs. Iowa; Jan. 1-2 at Scuffle (split coverage that alternates between stations); Jan. 17 vs. Indiana; Jan. 19 vs. Northwestern; Jan. 24 vs. Illinois; March 8-9 Big Ten Championship (split coverage between stations); March 20-22 NCAA Championship (split coverage between stations).

Airing on 103.1 FM only: Dec. 8 vs. Pitt; Dec. 15 vs. Ohio State; Jan. 12 vs. Purdue; Feb. 2 vs. Michigan; Feb. 9 vs. Minnesota; Feb. 16 vs. Oklahoma State.

Airing on 1390 AM only: Nov. 17 vs. Lehigh; Nov. 24 vs. Lock Haven; Dec. 6 vs. Boston; Jan. 31 vs. Michigan State.

Joining WRSC will a full season of coverage will be 1230 AM in Lock Haven, Pa., and new addition WWCB 1370 AM in Corry, Pa. Huntingdon and Lewistown will once again be served by WLAK 103.5 FM, WMRF 95.7 FM (Monday through Saturday action) and WIEZ 670 AM (which will carry the Sunday portion of the schedule).

Jeff Byers will once again call the action for Penn State and will be joined for many events throughout the year by former Nittany Lion wrestler Clay Steadman.

With seven stations delivering season live, 13 entities (nine radio and four cable television) will broadcast the Penn State Wrestling Radio Show, a weekly broadcast featuring a number of Nittany Lion faces, from head coach Cael Sanderson, members of the coaching staff to the athletes themselves.

The Pennsylvania Sports Network will once again serve as the host network the weekly show, which will air from 6-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday's, beginning on Nov. 13. Byers will host the show which will air on the following PSN affiliates:

Penn State opens up the 2013-14 season at Rider on Sat., Nov. 16, and at Lehigh on Sun., Nov. 17. All-Americans David Taylor (St. Paris, Ohio) and Matt Brown (West Valley City, Utah) will take part in the NWCA All-Star Classic two weeks prior to that on Nov. 2 at George Mason. In addition, Penn State will have a presence at the Binghamton Open on Nov. 10 with many Lions making the trip unattached.
