UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State football team will honor those who have served our nation and the Nittany Lions' senior class during the final two home games of the season the next two weeks.
Coach Bill O'Brien's squad hosts Purdue on Saturday, Nov. 16 for Military Appreciation Day. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 23, Penn State will host Nebraska for the home finale (kick TBA). The Nittany Lion seniors will be introduced to the Beaver Stadium faithful in a pre-game ceremony in what is always one of the highlights of the season.
Tickets for the Purdue and Nebraska games are available using the new Beaver Stadium Interactive Seat Map at www.ticketmaster.com/Beaver-Stadium-tickets-University-Park/venue/16740, calling 1-800-NITTANY (weekdays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.), or visiting the Jordan Center ticket office (weekdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.).
A special ticket package, "Kickoff to Tipoff," is available for the Purdue football game and the Lady Lions basketball team's Nov. 17 game vs. No. 1 Connecticut. Both games are set for 12 p.m. Fans interested in the $75 "Kickoff to Tipoff" package can call 1-800-NITTANY.
The "Seats For Soldiers" program is part of Military Appreciation Day activities on Saturday. Approximately 2,500 U.S. military service members (Active/Reserve)/Wounded Warriors, their direct dependent (i.e. ID Card Holder), veterans and Gold Star families residing in Pennsylvania are expected to attend the Purdue game.
A pre-game tailgate will be held for service members and their families with "Seats For Soldiers" tickets, and people who have donated tickets to service members (begins at 9 a.m.). ROTC elite, active duty, Wounded Warriors and veterans will be honored for their service during halftime.
Penn State Athletics and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank also will conduct their second annual food drive from Nov. 15-24. Fans are encouraged to "Stuff a Blue Bus" by dropping off canned goods at the following drop-off locations: Bryce Jordan Center, Jeffrey Field, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park and the Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau. The goal for "Stuff a Blue Bus" is to collect 10,000 lbs. of food.
Among the Penn State seniors who will be playing their final home game vs. Nebraska on Nov. 23 are: punter Alex Butterworth, linebacker Glenn Carson, wide receiver Brandon Felder, tackle Adam Gress, center Ty Howle, defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, linebacker/safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong, tackle Eric Shrive, guard John Urschel, safety Malcolm Willis and fullback Pat Zerbe.
Penn State students can purchase a pair of tickets to each of the last two home games at a special price - up to two tickets for $40 each -- with their valid student ID. Students from all Penn State campuses and the World Campus are able to buy two tickets for the Purdue and Nebraska games in advance by calling 1-800-NITTANY or in-person at the Beaver Stadium ticket office (weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). This special student ticket offer also is available on gameday at the Beaver Stadium ticket office starting four hours prior to kickoff.
The seats for this special student ticket offer will not be located in the 21,000-seat student section in Beaver Stadium.
Pre-paid single game parking passes for the general parking lots ($10) are also available at www.GoPSUsports.com/tickets.
