LAST TIME OUT: The Lady Lions used double-digit scoring performances from five different players in the 92-49 victory over Bucknell on Nov. 20. Sophomore center Candice Agee was one of four Lady Lions to have a career high scoring night with 16 points. Agee, whose previous personal mark was eight points on four occasions, was 7-for-10 from the field. She also pulled in six rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, and rejected a pair of shots. Senior guard Maggie Lucas added 17 points and four rebounds, while Ariel Edwards had a solid all-around game with 14 points, seven rebounds, a career-high five assists and a steal.
TOURNEY TIME: Since 1978, the Lady Lions have competed in 76 tournaments during the regular season and have won 27 tournament titles along the way. In those 76 tournaments, Penn State has amassed a 125-49 record that leads to a 71.8% winning percentage. This is not the Lady Lions' first trip to the Junkanoo Jam. In 2003, Penn State won the Junkanoo Jam with wins over George Washington, 77-51, and Kansas State, 69-56.
SCOUTING OREGON STATE: The Beavers are a perfect 4-0 on the season and are averaging 92.0 points per game with a +34.0 scoring margin. Sydney Wiese paces Oregon State with a 12.5 scoring and 5.0 assist average. She is also the team's top three-point threat, going 11-for-22 from beyond the arc. Deven Hunter is nearly averaging a double-double for the Beavers at 11.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Ali Gibson is also in double figures for OSU, accounting for 10.3 points per game and a team-best 3.0 steals per outing.
ALL-TIME VERSUS THE BEAVERS: The Lady Lions won the only previous meeting Oregon State, a 98-56 win at the UNLV Budweiser Tournament in Las Vegas. Penn State is 13-6 all-time against current Pac-12 members. The Lady Lions last faced a Pac-12 team when Washington State came to the Lady Lion Classic on Nov. 11, 2011. Penn State topped the Cougars, 72-60.
LAST TIME VS. OSU: Penn State topped Oregon State, 98-56, in the first round of the UNLV Budweiser Tournament on Jan. 4, 1985. The Lady Lions went on to win the tournament with a win over the host Runnin' Rebels. Kahadeejah Herbert led the team in points and rebounds, posting a double-double in the victory. Penn State last faced an SEC foe in the NCAA Tournament second round when the Lady Lions lost at LSU, 71-66.
