Ceresko and Vosters Selected as Individuals for NCAA Regionals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State women's golfers senior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) and junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) have been selected to compete in the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals, as announced by the NCAA women's golf committee this evening.

"We are very excited for them. They are both accomplished players and deserve this," head coach Denise St. Pierre said. " They will do well and this is just another stepping stone as they pursue their golf career beyond this level."

Both Ceresko and Vosters will compete in the East Regional hosted by Florida State, May 8-10 at the Southwood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla. The duo is among a group of 18 individuals who were selected to compete in the three-day event.

The East Regional includes 24 teams and six individuals, who are all vying for a spot in the championship field. The other individuals in the East Region include: Lori Beth Adams (UNC-Wilmington), Lacey Fears (Mercer), Kaew Preamucheun (Kennesaw State), and Abby Newton ( Mississippi).

A total of 378 student-athletes from around the nation have been selected for regional competition. From this group, just 126 will advance to the championship finals, consisting of the top eight teams and two individuals from each regional. The championship finals are set for May 20-23 at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
