UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 5 Penn State field hockey team hosts two conference games this weekend. First, the squad takes on Rutgers on Friday at 3:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. Then, the team takes on No. 18 Indiana on Sunday at noon. The game against the Hoosiers will be Pink Day and Senior Day.

Senior Day/Pink Day
Against Indiana, nine seniors will be recognized for their contributions to Penn State field hockey, including Katie Andrews (Lancaster, Pa.), Katie Breneman (Washington Boro, Pa.), Natalie Buttinger (Kitchener, Ontario), Jenna Chrismer (Mountain Top, Pa.), Amanda Dinunzio (State College, Pa.), Laura Gebhart (Mount Joy, Pa.), Casey Haegele (Warrington, Pa.), Taylor Herold (Fredericksburg, Va.) and Kylie Licata (Mountain Top, Pa.).

These seniors have been to the NCAA quarterfinals twice (2011, 2012), won two Big Ten regular season titles (2012, 2013) and earned two Big Ten Tournament championships (2011, 2012). The two fifth-year seniors have made four-straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

The game will also be Pink Day, raising awareness for breast cancer. The Nittany Lions and the Hoosiers will each be wearing pink warmup shirts. Pink Penn State field hockey knit caps will be given away to the first 200 fans in attendance.

Rutgers Notes
- The Scarlet Knights are in their first season in the Big Ten and have compiled a 6-7 record, including a 1-4 mark in league play.
- Rutgers has a Big Ten win over Ohio State (Oct. 10) and has played ranked opponents Virginia (Sept. 14) and Northwestern (Sept. 26) to overtime, while falling by just one game to ranked foes Michigan (Sept. 28) and Michigan State (Oct. 3).
- Offensively, Katie Champion leads the Scarlet Knights with eight goals and 21 points this season. Sofia Walia has notched a team-high six assists.
- Defensively, goalkeeper Shevaun Hayes holds a .692 save percentage in the cage.
- Meredith Long is in her third season at the helm.

Series History
Penn State is 13-4-3 all-time against Rutgers. The two teams haven't faced each other since the Nittany Lions won 1-0 on Sept. 14, 1993. Penn State has won the last seven games in the series, and haven't lost in the last 10 meetings.

Indiana Notes
- The Hoosiers have compiled a 9-3 record this season, with a 1-3 mark in conference play.
- Most recently, Indiana has back-to-back wins against ranked opponents, downing No. 4 Duke, 3-2, on Oct. 5 and defeating No. 20 Michigan State, 2-1, on Oct. 11.
- Offensively, Audra Heilman leads the team with 12 goals, five assists and 29 points. Through Oct. 12, she ranked fifth nationally with 1.00 goals per game.
- Defensively, the squad was 14th nationally through Oct. 12 with a 1.42 goals against average. Sydney Supica ranked first in the country with seven defensive saves and goalkeeper Maggie Olson was seventh with a .790 save percentage.
- Amy Robertson is in her 15th season as the head coach.

Series History
Penn State is 16-3 all-time against the Hoosiers. Last season, the Nittany Lions picked up a 4-0 win on the road. Penn State has won the last five meetings.

Last Time Out
Senior captain Laura Gebhart (Mount Joy, Pa.) posted her first career hat trick, leading the No. 5 Penn State field hockey team to a 4-1 win against Bucknell at the Field Hockey Complex Oct. 14. Gebhart scored all three of her goals in the first 18:46 of the game. Senior Taylor Herold (Fredericksburg, Va.) also scored in the game, tying her for 10th on the program's all-time goals list with 48.

Gebhart has started all 77 games since arriving on campus as a freshman. Against Bucknell (Oct. 14), the senior had her first career hat trick, scoring all three goals in the first 18:46 of the game.

Herold Moving up Goals List
Herold reached the 100-point mark with a goal and two assists at Ohio State (Sept. 28), giving her 100 career points. She has 48 goals and 15 assists for her career. Her 48 goals are tied for 10th on Penn State's all-time list. She is two goals away from tying head coach Charlene Morett-Curtiss for ninth with 50.

Herold's Heroics
Herold posted three goals, all in the second half, against No. 14 Princeton on Sept. 12. It marked her first career hat trick. Against Ohio State (Sept. 28), she had a career-high two assists. Scoring a goal in seven of the last eight games, she is first on the team with 34 points and 14 goals and tied for first with six assists. Herold has four multi-goal games this season. Through Oct. 12, the senior ranked fifth nationally in goals per game (1.00).

Gebhart on the Assist
Currently, she has 44 assists, which is two away from tying her for seventh on Penn State's all-time list and three from tying her for sixth. She is tied for first on the team with six assists.

Coming up with Corners
Through Oct. 12, the Nittany Lions ranked third nationally with 8.54 penalty corners per game. The squad has had 12 or more on four separate occasions, including a season-high 16 against Lock Haven.
