Penn State Enters Final Round of Georgetown Intercollegiate in Fourth

BEALLSVILLE, Md. - After one round at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, the Penn State men's golf team placed fourth overall with 294 strokes at the Members Club at Four Streams. The tournament will now be limited to 36-holes, with the final round tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Junior JD Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.) and freshman Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) lead the pack for the Nittany Lions, both tallying 73 single-round score and tying for 16th.

The remaining five starters - senior Jens Talbert (Little Rock, Ark.) and sophomores Cody Cox (Milford, Pa.) and Christian Elliott (Port Perry, Ontario) - are all one stroke behind Dornes and Miller with 74s and tied-for-24th standings.

Junior Geoff Vartelas (Cromwell, Conn.), playing as an individual, is also playing alongside Dornes and Miller with the 73-stroke mark.

Toledo leads the 12-team field with a 284 team total as Otto Black is on top of the player leader board with 69 strokes.

The tournament will now be limited to 36-holes, with the final round tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
