UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Penn State Lady Lions (5-15, 2-7) will look to add to their two-game winning streak when they visit Minnesota (16-4, 5-3) on Wednesday at 8 p.m. (ET). The game is available on BTN Plus and on BTN2GO for a fee.

LAST TIME OUT
- Sophomore Alex Harris came off of the bench to score 11 points and grab 10 rebounds for her first career double-double and sophomore Kaliyah Mitchell grabbed a career-high 15 boards and scored 10 points for her second straight double-double as the Lady Lions edged Northwestern, 76-75, on Sunday.
- Harris and Peyton Whitted led the scoring effort by the reserves with 11 points each.
- Harris grabbed the final rebound of the game off of a Northwestern last second shot to seal the victory to collect her 10th rebound and her first career double-double.
- The starting five also played a major role in the victory, with Candice Agee, Mitchell and Sierra Moore all reaching double-digits.
- Agee connected on just two field goals, but knocked down a career-high 6-of-8 shots from the free throw stripe to account for 10 points.
- Moore turned in a team-best 18 points for her 14th double-digit scoring game of the season and in the process moved past the 300 career point mark.
SCOUTING MINNESOTA
- Despite losing Preseason Big Ten Player of the Year Rachel Banham to an ACL injury, the Golden Gophers are 16-4 overall and 5-3 in Big Ten play with wins over Nebraska, Purdue, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Indiana.
- Amanda Zahui B. has stepped up for the Gophers, averaging a double-double via 17.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. Zahui B. ranks second in the Big Ten in rebounding.
- Shae Kelley has been stuffing the stat sheet this season, accounting for 16.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and a team-best 1.8 steals per game.
- Carlie Wagner rounds out the double-digit scorers for Minnesota with 10.4 tallies per outing, while Shayne Mullaney is second in the Big Ten with a 6.9 assists average.
ALL-TIME VERSUS THE GOLDEN GOPHERS
- The Lady Lions are 27-12 all-time against Minnesota, but are just 9-9 in road games against the Golden Gophers.
- Penn State has won seven of its last eight games against Minnesota.
- The Lady Lions have lost eight of their last nine games in Minneapolis.
- The Lady Lions won the only meeting between the teams last season with an 83-53 victory at the Bryce Jordan Center on Jan. 26.
LAST TIME VERSUS MINN
- Senior guard Dara Taylor posted her second career double-double with 15 points and 10 assists to lead the Lady Lions to a runaway 30-point win over Minnesota, 83-53, on Jan. 26, 2014.
- Taylor orchestrated the high-powered attack by scoring 15 points and dishing out a Penn State career-high 10 assists while only committing one turnover for her second career double-double and first in the Blue & White.
- Fellow senior Maggie Lucas added a game-high 25 points, scoring 15 of her 25 points in the first half.
- Ariel Edwards also reached double figures as the senior poured in 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting and chipped in five rebounds and two assists.
- Freshman forward Alex Harris showed some pop off of the bench with five points and five rebounds, while fellow rookies Peyton Whitted and Jenny DeGraaf added four points each.
- The Lady Lions' defensive unit was also a major factor in the outcome. Through 35 minutes of play, Penn State allowed only three Golden Gophers to make a mark in the scoring column.
DOUBLE DIGITS DEJA VU
- For the second-straight game, the Lady Lions landed five players in double figures in the win over Northwestern on Jan. 25.
- This marked the first time since the 2010-11 season that Penn State had back-to-back games with five players reaching double figures.
- 2014-15 Season: vs. Indiana (1/22/15): Kaliyah Mitchell (20), Sierra Moore (15), Candice Agee (13), Peyton Whitted (12), Lindsey Spann (11); vs. Northwestern (1/25/15): Moore (18), Alex Harris (11), Whitted (11), Mitchell (10), Agee (10).
- 2010-11 Season: vs. Ohio State (1/30/11): Alex Bentley (21), Maggie Lucas (18), Julia Trogele (14), Nikki Greene (12), Mia Nickson (10); at Michigan (2/3/11): Lucas (23), Greene (14), Zhaque Gray (11), Bentley (11), Trogele (10).
MITCHELL MARKS OFF A DOUBLE-DOUBLE
- Sophomore Kaliyah Mitchell posted her second straight double-double with 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in the win over Northwestern on Jan. 25.
- It is the first time a Lady Lion has posted consecutive double-doubles since Nikki Greene did so on Jan. 27 and Jan. 30, 2011. Greene had 12 points and 10 rebounds vs. Ohio State (1/30/11) and 16 points and 14 rebounds at Illinois (1/27/11).
- Mitchell posted her eighth double-figure scoring game of the season and fourth 10-plus rebound effort versus Northwestern.
- She also added a career-high four assists, besting her previous high of three set against Indiana on Thursday, Jan. 22.
- Mitchell's 15 rebounds were the most for a Penn State player since Nikki Greene had 16 boards in the NCAA Tournament game at LSU on March 26, 2013.
HARRIS HITS DOUBLES
- Sophomore Alex Harris scored a career-high 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to post her first career double-double versus Northwestern on Jan. 25.
- She is the sixth different Lady Lion to record a double-double this season, with all of them marking their first such career efforts.
- The double figure scoring effort was the first of Harris' career, while she pulled down 10-or-more rebounds for the fourth time in her career.
- Harris set career-highs in field goals made (5) and field goals attempted (7) and matched career-high with one steal against the Wildcats.
WHITTED WARMING UP
- After a slow start to the season, sophomore Peyton Whitted seems to be heating up as January draws to a close.
- In her last two games, Whitted is averaging 11.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks with a 71.4 percent effort from the field.
- She reached double figures in the scoring column in consecutive games for the first time in her career on Sunday vs. Northwestern.
- Whitted had 11 points against the Wildcats after scoring a career-best 12 points versus Indiana on Thursday (1/22).
- In the first 18 games of the season, Whitted averaged 3.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game with a 31.5 shooting percentage.
The 2014-15 Penn State Lady Lion Basketball season is presented by Kish Travel and Kish Insurance. The Lady Lions continue their road trip at Rutgers Sunday for a game that will appear on the Big Ten Network. Penn State is back in the BJC against Maryland on Thursday, Feb. 5.
