UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Penn State Lady Lions (6-20, 3-12) hit the road for the final time in Big Ten play when they travel to Maryland to face the fifth-ranked Terrapins (24-2, 15-0) on Monday at 7 p.m. The game will air live on the Big Ten Network.

    LAST TIME OUT

  • Four players in double figures, including 17 from Sierra Moore and a career-best 16 points from Tori Waldner, weren't enough on Feb. 15, as the Lady Lions dropped an 85-77 decision to Minnesota.
  • The Lady Lions made more field goals (34-28) than the Golden Gophers, but Minnesota held the edge in three-point field goals (12-4) and free throws made (17-5) to earn the victory.
  • Penn State also out-rebounded its opponent for the 15th time on the year and handed out a season-high 22 assists.
  • The Lady Lions put four players in double figures for the second straight game and eighth time overall this season, with Moore's 17 points leading the way.
  • Waldner added a career-high 16 tallies, Kaliyah Mitchell scored 11 points and Candice Agee chipped in 10 points in the loss.
  • Waldner added eight rebounds, a season-high-tying four assists and blocked two shots to push her career total to 119 swats.

    SCOUTING MARYLAND

  • The Terrapins are ranked fifth in this week's AP poll and USA Today Sports Coaches poll with a 24-2 overall record and perfect 15-0 mark in Big Ten play. Maryland has won 18 consecutive games.
  • Maryland has clinched at least a share of the Big Ten regular-season title.
  • Shatori Walker-Kimbrough connects on 55.7 percent of her shots from the field as she accounts for 14.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
  • Laurin Mincy is second among the quartet of Terps averaging double-digits with a 13.5 scoring average.
  • Lexie Brown adds 13.3 points per game with a team-best 4.8 assists per contest, while Brionna Jones chips in 12.7 points and a squad-high 9.2 rebounds per outing.
  • The Terps are fifth in the NCAA in scoring offense with an 82.2 average and are also sixth in scoring margin with a +21.4 differential.

    ALL-TIME VERSUS THE TERRAPINS

  • Penn State is 14-9 all-time against Maryland, including wins in the six of the last seven meetings.
  • Penn State is just 6-5 in road games against the Terrapins.
  • The Lady Lions and Terps squared off each year from 1995 until 2003 with Penn State holding an 8-1 record during that time.
  • Penn State last traveled to Maryland on Dec. 3, 2003 with the Lady Lions claiming an 82-65 win.

    LAST TIME VERSUS UMD

  • The Lady Lions held the momentum early against #5/5 Maryland, but the Terrapins used a 31-7 run over the final 10 minutes of the first half to grab control of the game and claim a 77-62 win Thursday.
  • Freshman Lindsey Spann led the way for the Lady Lions with 18 points, while sophomore Sierra Moore added 15 and junior Candice Agee added 10.
  • Spann was 7-of-15 from the field in the game, and added two rebounds, two assists and one steal.
  • Moore posted her ninth game of the season with at least 10 points, five rebounds and four assists, finishing the night with six boards and four helpers to go along with her 15 points.
  • Continuing her strong play was Agee, who ended the night with six rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal.
  • Senior Tori Waldner added a team-best eight rebounds to go along with six points.

    HIGH SCHOOL TEAMMATES MEET

  • Penn State sophomore guard Peyton Whitted will see a familiar face on the other side of the court when she meets high school teammate, Lexie Brown, on Monday.
  • Whitted and Brown led North Gwinnett High School to the Georgia State Championship in 2013 with a 30-2 overall record and 15-1 mark in conference play.
  • The pair also led the Bulldogs to the state semifinals in 2012, marking the first semifinal appearance for North Gwinnett since 1963.

    PINK ZONE GAME TIME ANNOUNCED

  • The game time for the Ninth Annual Pink Zone at Penn State has been announced.
  • The Lady Lions will take on Wisconsin at 2 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center.
  • This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and Lewistown Hospital.

    WALDNER WHIPS UP A CAREER DAY

  • Senior Tori Waldner scored a career-high 16 points against Minnesota on Feb. 15, including a personal-best seven made field goals.
  • Waldner's previous best was 14 points vs. Northwestern on Feb. 20, 2014.
  • She also matched her season-high of four assists. She also had four assists vs. Northwestern on Jan. 25, 2015.

    MOORE GIVING MORE

  • Sophomore Sierra Moore logged her sixth game of the season with at least 14 points, five rebounds, and five assists against Minnesota on Feb. 15.
  • She scored 17 points, pulled in six rebounds, and added a career-high eight assists vs. the Gophers.
  • Moore's career-high eight assists give her 10 games this season with at least five helpers.
  • Her previous career best of seven assists has been accomplished three times with the last coming versus Indiana on Jan. 22, 2015.

    DISHING OUT DIMES

  • The Lady Lions handed out a season-high 22 assists against Minnesota on Feb. 15.
  • It is the highest assist total for the Lady Lions since dishing out 22 at Purdue on Jan. 20, 2014.
  • Penn State had three players log at least four assists versus the Gophers, marking the fourth time this season that at least three Lady Lions logged four or more assists in a game.
  • It is the first time that Penn State has accomplished the feat since doing so versus Rider on Dec. 14.
  • The Lady Lions also took care of the ball against the Gophers, committing their second fewest turnovers of the season with 12.
  • Only an 11-turnover game at Minnesota has been more efficient.

    The 2014-15 Penn State Lady Lion Basketball season is presented by Kish Travel and Kish Insurance. The Lady Lions return home to face Ohio State on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. for Dollar Dog Night and Faculty/Staff Night. Penn State employees will get a free ticket and ability to purchase up to three additional tickets for $5 each. Penn State then closes out the regular-season in the Pink Zone game versus Wisconsin on Sunday at 2 p.m.

    Lady Lion Basketball single-game are available by calling 1-800-NITTANY. Single-game tickets range from $10-17 for adults and seniors and $5-11 for youth (12 and younger). The PNC Flex Books are $120 and give fans 12 vouchers, 10 that can be redeemed in any combination for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets throughout the year and two extra vouchers for the Nittany Lions' Coaches Vs. Cancer game and the Lady Lions' Pink Zone game.

    The Ninth Annual Pink Zone at Penn State presented by Mount Nittany Health will be held Sunday, March 1 in the Bryce Jordan Center when the Lady Lions take on Wisconsin at 2 p.m. Last year, the Lady Lions donated a record $310,000 to breast cancer causes. All totaled, the Lady Lions have donated more than $1.135 million for breast cancer research and awareness in the first eight years. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C.
