Women's Swimming Named Scholar All-America Team

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's swimming and diving team was named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team for posting a 3.43 team grade point average for the 2014 fall semester, the CSCAA announced Tuesday.

Head Coach Tim Murphy's squad was one of 143 Division I women's programs to receive the honor, which is bestowed upon those that achieved at least a cumulative 3.0 grade point average or better during the Fall 2014 semester. All 13 Big Ten programs were recognized, led by Purdue with a 3.50 GPA. The Nittany Lions ranked third behind Illinois (3.44).

Clemson posted the nation's highest GPA of 3.59.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America is the oldest professional organization of college coaches in America. The CSCAA is dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
