Penn State Travels to Marshall for Two Non-Conference Matches

HUNTINGTON, W. VA.- The Penn State women's tennis team heads on the road this weekend to Huntington, West Virginia to take on a pair of ranked opponents. The Nittany Lions will battle No. 55 Marshall Saturday at noon and No. 73 Utah Sunday at 11:00 a.m. Both matches will be played at the Huntington Tennis Club in Barboursville, W. Va. Scouting Marshall
The Thundering Herd (6-3) enter the weekend after jumping up almost 20 spots in the rankings from last week, where they were ranked No. 73. Marshall has not dropped a match on its home court yet this season. The green and white rode a four match win streak before suffering a 6-1 loss to No. 50 Virginia Tech last Sunday.

Scouting Utah
The Utes (1-6) have dropped their last three matches, including the last two to unranked opponents. Utah's lone win was over No. 55 Memphis and has played three matches against Top 30 opponents. The Utes have one ranked singles player in No. 53 Tereza Bekerova, who is 3-1 during the spring season. Bekerova and partner Margo Pletcher are the 31st ranked doubles pair.

Nittany Lions in the Rankings
Penn State `s doubles team of Victoria Kisialeva (Toronto, Canada) and Dasha Sapogova (Minsk, Belarus) check in at No. 51 in the latest ITA doubles rankings. The duo has posted a 5-2 record so far, including victories over the 19th and 50th ranked doubles pairs.

The weekend slate of matches will be the fourth and fifth ranked opponents the Nittany Lions will face this season.
