COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Penn State women's tennis team continues their road trip as the Nittany Lions travel to No. 19 Ohio State for their noon match on Saturday. The blue and white rides a two-match win streak into Columbus, including a win over then No. 37 Illinois.
Scouting Ohio State
The Buckeyes enter Saturday's match with an 8-4 record, including a 2-0 record in the Big Ten. The scarlet and grey defeated No. 56 Illinois and No. 35 Northwestern, both by scores of 6-1 coming into this weekend. Gabriella De Santis and Sandy Niehaus are the 24th ranked doubles pair. The duo owns an 11-6 overall record, including a 3-2 record in the number one doubles slot.
Nittany Lions in the Rankings
The doubles duo of Victoria Kisialeva (Toronto, Canada) and Dasha Sapogova (Minsk, Belarus) are ranked No. 65 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings. The pair is 5-4 in the first doubles position and 2-0 in conference play.
Singles Impact
One of the biggest improvements of the season has been in singles play. The Nittany Lions have won at least three singles matches in six of their last eight matches, winning four of them.
