LAST TIME OUT: No. 13 Princeton 12, No. 11 Penn State 11 (March 17)
The 11th-ranked Nittany Lion women's lacrosse team was undone by committing a season-high 16 turnovers in a tough 12-11 loss at No. 13 Princeton on Wednesday afternoon. Junior midfielder Madison Cyr (Westminster, Md.) had a team-high three goals as PSU's late-game comeback fell short.

Penn State (5-3, 0-0 Big Ten) dropped its second game in three outings, unable to hold off a patient and precise Princeton (5-1, 1-0 Ivy League) team that won its seventh game vs. PSU in the past eight games.

Maggie McCormick (Eldersburg, Md.) and Haley Ford (White Hall, Md.) led the Nittany Lions with three points as seven different players tallied a goal. McCormick and Ford had two-goal games.

Down 11-8 with 8:45 remaining, Ford scored her second of the game, and her fifth of the season, from the free-position to cut the deficit to two. Seventy-five seconds later, Cyr cut the deficit in half, making the score 11-10 with 7:29 remaining.

Princeton's Olivia Hompe put the Tigers ahead by two once again with 3:09 to go. Cyr's third of the day came with only 1:48 remaining from the free-position.

Ally Heavens (Garnet Valley, Pa.) would win the ensuing draw as Cyr would again be fouled in the fan with 54 seconds setting up another free-position shot. Unlike the previous attempt, this one sailed wide and Princeton's Liz Bannantine would force a game-ending turnover to seal the Tiger win.

MCCORMICK RISING UP THE CHARTS
Maggie McCormick is on pace to set a Penn State career record for assists, currently holding the second spot with 113 dishes. McCormick is two helpers away from matching Julie Tice (115, 1997-2000).

For her career, McCormick has 226 points split evenly between 113 goals and 113 assists. The 226 points are good for fifth place at Penn State, eight behind fourth (234, Beth Thompson, 1983-86). McCormick (113 goals) needs seven goals to crack the top 15 goals chart.

LAZO LEADING THE LIONS
Despite missing two games with injury, Penn State sophomore Steph Lazo is the team's leader in goals early on with 15, scoring one in her return at Princeton.

She had a five-goal game against Lehigh and a hat trick against Bucknell before scoring two vs. Duquesne. She found the back of the net once more against Virginia two weeks ago and had another hat trick vs. Loyola last week.

In all, Lazo has 17 points on the season, second to Maggie McCormick (32, 13-19). Entering 2015, Lazo had only one goal to her name.

BALANCED SCORING
The Nittany Lions have received goals from 14 different sources this season with six different double-digit scorers in all. Steph Lazo (15) leads the bunch followed by Madison Cyr (14), Kelly Lechner (13), Jenna Mosketti (13), Maggie McCormick (13) and Tatum Coffey (11).

CYR, MCCORMICK NAMED TO TEWAARATON AWARD WATCH LIST
Senior Maggie McCormick (Eldersburg, Md.) and junior Madison Cyr (Westminster, Md.) were named as two of 50 women's lacrosse players to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List on Thursday night, Feb. 26. The Tewaaraton Award, presented by Under Armour, honors the best men's and women's collegiate lacrosse player.

This is the fifth straight season the Nittany Lions have had a representative on the preseason watch list. Potential additions to the watch list will be announced March 19 and April 9 before the first cutdown to 25 players on April 23.

ABOUT THE DRAGONS
Drexel (2-6) is in the midst of a five-game home stand, opening the stretch with a 9-5 win against crosstown rival Villanova, 9-5, last Saturday. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak.

Drexel has connected on 33.8 percent of its shots, while allowing 41.3 percent of shot attempts. Drexel has scored six of fewer goals on four occasions this year and is 2-1 when scoring nine or more times.

Eleven of Drexel's 50 goals have been scored by Lacey Aghazarian, who is aided by Milan White's eight goals. White leads the team with 12 draw controls. Emily Duffey scores (6 goals) and distributes (5 assists), while Devin Nihill has nine points on six goals and three assists.
