UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's soccer team continued its spring shutout streak by blanking local rival Bucknell 3-0, Saturday inside Holuba Hall. After defeating Canada's Ryerson University 6-0 in their last outing, the Lions are now 2-0 on the spring season.

A nice crowd gathered in Houluba to see Kyle MacDonald (Yardley, Pa.) score the contest's first goal, coming from a diagonal run behind the defense, reminiscent of his game winner against Ohio State (Sept. 21) last fall.

Drew Klingenberg (Gibsonia, Pa.) finished the scoring with 20 minutes to go in the match on a breakaway and a 1-v-1 with the keeper. After that score, PSU featured some efficient possessions and had seven good scoring chances before the match's final whistle.

In goal for head coach Bob Warming was Evan Finney (San Francisco, Calif.) who minded the net in the first half, followed by Danny Sheerin (College Park, Md.) in the second. Sheerin came up with a fantastic save on the line off a Bucknell corner, by far the Bison's most dangerous chance of the match. Only a lightning quick reaction from Sheer in the deflection off a driven corner prevented BU from scoring.

The Nittany Lions return to action next Sunday, Mar. 28, in Holuba Hall as they take on St. Francis (Pa.) at 5:15 PM. The match is free and open to the public.
