UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; March 27, 2015 - Rising seniors Britt Eckerstrom (Germantown, Md.), Raquel Rodriguez (San Jose, Costa Rica) and Mallory Weber (Novi, Mich.) have been named team captains for the 2015 campaign of Penn State women's soccer.

"Our coaching staff is thrilled to announce Britt, Mal and Rocky as captains and we are looking forward to working with them as they lead our 2015 squad," head coach Erica Walsh said. "All three of these student-athletes possess the core values and blue collar mentality that we emphasize within our program."

A three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Eckerstrom, a red-shirt senior, sits second among Penn State goalkeepers with 57 games played and her 39 career wins is tied for third.

Weber, also an Academic All-Big Ten selection, tied for the team lead with 22 points last season, scoring eight goals and dishing out six assists.

Rodriguez, the 2014 Big Ten Midfielder of the Year, a NSCAA Scholar All-America pick, NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region first team member and Academic All-Big Ten honoree, posted 17 points in 18 games played.

The 2014 Nittany Lions advanced to their 20th consecutive NCAA Tournament and 10th NCAA Tournament quarterfinal in program history. Putting up its seventh 20-win season, the Blue and White won its 16th conference title in 17 years, a record unmatched by any Division I program.
