BUFFALO, N.Y. - Penn State senior diver T.J. Schenkel (Richboro, Pa.) led the Nittany Lion diving corps Monday as he finished in 14th place during the one meter at the NCAA Zone `A' Diving Regionals, hosted by the University at Buffalo.

Schenkel tallied a 541.60 12-dive score during the final session following his 271.30 mark in preliminaries earlier in the day. His 14th place finish was just seven off of where he would have needed to place to advance to the NCAA Championships. Still his 2015 performance bested his output a year ago as he placed 21st in preliminaries during 2014 Zones and was not eligible to compete in the finals.

Other PSU divers competing in the one meter during the regionals' first day included freshmen Connor Scanlon (Laurel, Md.) and Travis Wright (Derby, N.Y.). The pair finished 29th and 43rd respectively during preliminaries with Scanlon tallying a six-dive score of 247.20 score and Wright putting a 222.70 mark up on the board.

The Lion trio will be back at it on Tuesday as they will take part in three meter diving with preliminary and finals competition.
