UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team posted an 879 three-round tally after day two of the Big Ten Championship and will be in fifth place heading into the final round of play at Victoria National.

Senior Xander McDonald-Smith (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) leads the Nittany Lions with 221 strokes and a tied-for-20th ranking. Freshman Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) and senior Jens Talbert (Little Rock, Ark.) are both tied for 25th after carding 223's through 54 holes.

Junior JD Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.) notched his tournament-low in the third round with a 69 to total 226 strokes. Sophomore Christian Elliott (Port Perry, Ontario) will enter the final round with a 228.

llinois remains atop the team leaderboard with an 845 tally. Nick Hardy of the Fighting Illini also holds the first place position among all players, shooting a 208 three-round mark.
