Curry Named Academic All-EIVA

April 28, 2015

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Redshirt senior Connor Curry has earned his fourth consecutive spot on the Academic All-EIVA team, as announced by the conference this afternoon. Curry joins 14 other student athletes from the other conference schools on the squad.

Marking his fourth career Academic All-EIVA honor, Curry has established himself as Penn State's starting libero for the past four seasons, picking up All-EIVA awards in each year. Most recently, he was honored as the only libero on the 2015 First Team All-EIVA squad.

Having played in 119 career matches, his collection of appearances on the court ranks first all-time in the NCAA active DI record list. This year, his 2.54 digs per set currently ranks seventh nationally and has been slotted within the nation's top 10 all season. Curry also surpassed the 1,000 career digs mark this season to become one of two Nittany Lions in program history to reach the milestone.

To be eligible for Academic All-EIVA honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and have participated in at least 60 percent of the matches played by their team.

Top-seeded Penn State men's volleyball (18-9, 12-0) is set to host the 2015 EIVA Championship this week. The Nittany Lions open the event with a semifinal matchup against fourth-seeded Princeton Wednesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Rec Hall. No. 2 Harvard and No. 3 George Mason will square off in the earlier semifinal match at 5 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 12 and younger. Group tickets are available at a discounted rate of $4 for groups of 15 or more with an advance sale. Admission is free of charge to any student from all four participating institutions with a valid student ID. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-NITTANY or at the door on gameday.
