NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 13 Penn State women's gymnastics team closed out the 2015 campaign with a sixth place showing at the NCAA Regional Championships inside the Lloyd Noble Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma on Saturday evening.

No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 12 Oregon State grabbed the two automatic berths to the NCAA Championships with scores of 197.625 and 196.750, respectively. No. 22 Southern Utah (196.275) placed third and Missouri (196.050) claimed fourth, while North Carolina State (195.775) and Penn State (195.150) rounded out the team competition.

As a team, the 2015 squad wrote its name into the top-10 of the programs NCAA Regional Championships record book on two events. The 49.200 on the vault ranks No. 5 in program history at the Regional meet, while the 49.050 on the uneven bars is tied for No. 7 in the school's regional history.

Freshman Briannah Tsang (Vancouver, British Columbia) led the way for the Nittany Lions in the all-around with a 49.100 to tie for fifth overall. She totaled 9.800 or better on three of the four events and tied for the team-high score on the balance beam at 9.800. Tsang logged a 9.850 on the vault to finish tied for 12th and a 9.825 on the uneven bars to tie for 10th on the event. She also posted a 9.625 on the floor exercise.

Competing in their 26th straight all-around competitions, seniors Krystal Welsh (Bowie, Md.) and Sidney Sanabria-Robles (Caguas, Puerto Rico) placed 11th and 12th, respectively. The duo each competed in the all-around in every meet for the past two seasons.

Welsh finished 11th with an overall score of 38.675, including a 9.850 on the uneven bars to finish in a tie for fourth on the apparatus. She logged a 9.800 on both the vault and floor exercise, while scoring 9.225 on the balance beam.

A 38.450 for Sanabria-Robles placed her 12th in the all-around. Her highest finish came on the floor exercise where her 9.825 finished tied for 15th overall. She also scored 9.800 on the vault, 9.600 on the uneven bars and 9.225 on the balance beam.

The Nittany Lions opened the meet on balance beam, but a pair of falls equated to a team score of just 47.950. Sophomore Christina Postiglione (Selden, N.Y.) continued her consistent season on the apparatus by tying Tsang for the team's top score at 9.800. Postiglione did not score under a 9.800 in her eight official competitions in 2015. Sophomore Nicole Medvitz (Paramus, N.J.) posted the only other complete routine with a 9.700.

After refocusing during its bye in the second rotation, Penn State came out and scored 48.950 on the floor exercise. Sanabria-Robles led the way for the Blue and White on the event with a 9.825, while sophomore Emma Sibson (Allen, Texas) and Welsh each scored 9.800. Senior Lexi Carroll's (Olney, Md.) 9.775 and freshman Oni Timothy's (Rochester, N.Y.) 9.750 rounded out the scoring for Penn State in the third rotation.

Penn State posted its fifth highest NCAA Regional Championships score on the vault with a 49.200. Sibson and Timothy led the way with identical scores of 9.875, while Tsang turned in a 9.850 on the event. The rotation only saw five gymnasts compete, as Sanabria-Robles and Welsh each scored 9.800 to round out the scoring.

The second bye led the Blue and White into its final rotation, the uneven bars. The 49.050 on the event ties for the No. 7 spot in Penn State's NCAA Regional Championships history with the 2012 squad's total at North Carolina State.
