SVG, NACDA Announce Winners of Seventh Annual College Sports Media Awards | Penn State Hockey Story Episodes
ATLANTA - For a second straight year, Penn State men's hockey was the subject of a Sports Video Group (SVG) and National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) College Sports Media Award, which was presented to Mind Over Media for `The Penn State Hockey Story' on Thursday night.
`The Penn State Hockey Story' is produced by Mind over Media and won the CSMA Program Series category in the Regional/Local/Conference Digital Network division. Last year, Mind Over Media teamed up with Penn State to produce `Hockey Valley: The Opening of Pegula Ice Arena,' which earned the Outstanding Program Series honor.
The 2014 College Sports Media Awards represented the best in class from a wide array of college athletic and academic departments, as well as professional networks, production companies and student productions. The nominees were spread across four divisions in a total of 16 categories.
The award-winning, behind-the-scenes digital series of `The Penn State Hockey Story' documented the 2014-15 Nittany Lions from opening night until the final horn. In all, 11 episodes produced outstanding features, series recaps, special occasions and all that went on during a historic third season of Nittany Lion hockey.
The seventh annual College Sports Media Awards were sponsored by Ross Video and hosted by Fox Sports' Joel Klatt Thursday night at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta.
