Three Nittany Lions Receive First Team All-America Honors

Following their performances at the 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Darrell Hill (Philadelphia, Pa.), Brannon Kidder (Lancaster, Ohio) and Steve Waithe (Parkville, Md.) received First Team All-America honors, as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Hill, a senior, recorded a runner-up finish in the men's shot put with his toss of 68 feet, 2.25 inches and in men's 800-meter run, Kidder clocked in at 1 minute, 49.36 seconds for second place.

In the men's triple jump, Waithe repeated as an All-American with his eighth-place finish (53-4.25). Last year at the 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Waithe finished fifth in the triple jump.

Also receiving All-America honors, Robby Creese (Mount Airy, Md.), Rachel Fatherly (Williamsport, Pa.) and Tori Gerlach (Perkasie, Pa.) were named Second Team All-Americans.

Creese placed 13th in the 1,500-meter run with his time of 3:42.09.

Fatherly, in her NCAA Outdoor Championships debut, finished 10th in the women's shot put with her toss of 54-8.25.

Gerlach garnered Second Team All-America honors in two events. She finished 10th in the women's 5,000-meter run (16:00.28) and she placed 14th in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:14.79).

Glen Burkhardt (Kennett Square, Pa.) and Elizabeth Chikotas (Hellertown, Pa.) were named Honorable Mention.
