U.S. U-20 Release
CHICAGO - Four members of the Penn State women's soccer team are currently training with the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California. The week-long training camp takes place July 22-29.
Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Rose Chandler (Atlanta, Ga.), freshman defender Ellie Jean (Coventry, Conn.), sophomore midfielder Emily Ogle (Strongsville, Ohio) and freshman defender Kaleigh Riehl (Fairfax Station, Va.) are among the 24 players training with the U.S. U-20 National Team. The age group, born on or after Jan. 1, 1996, is focused on qualifying for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
Chandler, Ogle and Riehl also took part in a week-long training camp hosted by U.S. U-20 Women's National Team this past January in Sanford, Fla. Along with training at U-20 training camp earlier this year, Chandler and Riehl were on the U.S. U-20 Women's National Team that competed at the U-20 Women's World Cup in 2014.
Jean has also competed with the U-14, U-15, U-17 and U-18 teams and she captained the U-17 team at the 2013 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship.
The Nittany Lion quartet will join the rest of the Penn State women's soccer team at Jeffery Field on Aug. 15 when they host Army West Point in an exhibition contest.
