CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- No. 7 Penn State rallied from a two-goal deficit to take the lead with three second half goals, but No. 9 Virginia was able to battle back and win in overtime, 4-3, Sunday afternoon on Turf Field.

Penn State (0-2) got on the board 10 minutes into the second half with Stephanie Hussey's (Miami, Fla.) second goal in as many games, assisted by Emile Bruggemeier (Hershey, Pa.) The combination of Aurelia Meijer (Hattem, Netherlands) to Shay Cannon (Wilmington, Del.) then stuck twice in less than two minutes, as Meijer setup Cannon for two quick, back-to-back goals to give Penn State its first lead of the game with 10:20 remaining.

Virginia (2-0) would regroup following a timeout and tie the game back up at three goals apiece on a goal by Tara Vittese with 1:23 remaining to force overtime

"We dominated the first half, not necessarily in goals but in possessions and making drives," said Penn State head coach Charlene Morett-Curtiss. "We talked at halftime about how we were not out of the game. We just need more experience to get the ball out of trouble at the end of the game."

Penn State ultimately outshot Virginia, 20-18, for the game, holding a 12-7 advantage in the second half The Lions held a 7-3 advantage in penalty corners, but were unable to convert on any of the tries.
