UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State men's lacrosse has announced its fall schedule, which is set to begin on the road at the Capital Lacrosse Invitational this weekend.
The Nittany Lions will square off against Loyola (Md.) and UMBC in a doubleheader slated for Sunday, Oct. 11 at the Mario St. George Boiardi Foundation at the Landon School in Bethesda, Md. Penn State takes on the Greyhounds at 10 a.m., before meeting the Retrievers at noon.
Along with the Nittany Lions, this year's Capital Lacrosse Invitational field includes Cornell, UMBC and tournament newcomer, Loyola (Md.). The premier fall ball event kicks off with a free youth clinic before round robin play begins.
Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $15 for youth ages 12 and under. Fans may purchase tickets here. Tournament t-shirts will also be available for purchase, with proceeds going toward the Mario St. George Boiardi Foundation, which supports the mission to empower the next generation through academics and athletics.
Penn State will also host its fifth-annual Alumni, Family and Friends event the following weekend, beginning with a pair of games Friday, Oct. 16. The Nittany Lions will host an alumni game at 7:30 p.m., before hosting a Blue-White team scrimmage at 9 p.m. at the Penn State Lacrosse Field. The Penn State Lacrosse Parents Association (PSLPA) will also host a tailgate BBQ throughout the evening for Penn State men's lacrosse alumni, family, and friends in attendance.
The next day, Saturday, Oct. 17, Penn State men's lacrosse will host its annual golf outing beginning at 11 a.m. at the Mountain View Country Club, with a dinner reception following.
The Nittany Lions close out the weekend with the annual Penn State men's lacrosse team banquet, which is set for Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Penn Stater. The team will recap the 2015 season, hand out award and officially introduce the Penn State men's lacrosse class of 2019.
The Nittany Lions are fresh off of the inaugural season in the Big Ten, which featured a trip to the first ever Big Ten Tournament semifinals. PSU posted a 5-9 record in 2015 and a 2-3 mark in the first season of conference play.
