UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" The top-seeded Nittany Lion women's soccer team is set to host second-seeded West Virginia on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the NCAA quarterfinals.
The Lions and Mountaineers will clash with a spot in the 2015 College Cup on the line. Making its third appearance in the quarterfinals since 2012, the Nittany Lions are no stranger to this stage. The team is headed into the round of eight with a great deal of confidence following a dominant start to the NCAA Tournament.
Penn State has outscored its opponents 15-0 during the first three games of the tournament. In total, the Lions have not allowed a goal in five-straight games, stretching back to the Big Ten Tournament. Penn State and West Virginia are familiar foes, with WVU scoring a narrow 1-0 victory back on Sept. 4.
