Boston World Cup: Day One Results

BOSTON ââ'¬" After wrapping up the first day of competition at the fencing World Cup, two Penn State fencers will advance to day two of the tournament.

Senior captain Kaito Streets (Redwood City, Calif.) and sophomore Andrew Mackiewicz (Westwood, Mass.) will compete tomorrow beginning in the pool of 64 at 2:20 p.m. Mackiewicz is currently tied for the 43rd seed, and Streets is the 46th seed heading into tomorrow.

Freshman Karol Metryka (Linden, N.J.) advanced to the second round of direct elimination play. Metryka fell in the round of 128 and ended in 101st place. Sophomore Eduardo Lara (Queretaro, Mexico) fell in the first round and ended 127th on the day.
