Behonick Named Assistant Coach at Pitt

Jan. 8, 2016

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" Pitt has announced the hiring of Penn State men's soccer assistant coach Michael Behonick. After serving on the Nittany Lion coaching staff for two seasons, Behonick will now be an assistant coach at Pitt under newly named head coach Jay Vidovich.

"We're very excited to add two veteran coaches to the staff," Vidovich said. "They both come in with great lineage and heritage in terms of their careers. Michael [Behonick] was with the University of Virginia and helped them to ACC Championships and helped them build a team that went on to win a national championship. He's now had the experience of working with Bob Warming at Penn State. He's another top veteran coach in the country, so he certainly knows the ins and outs of recruiting in a similar manner as the University of Pittsburgh.

Statement from Head Coach Bob Warming: "Michael is going to work for a longtime friend of mine, Jay Vidovich. Mike is a great choice for Jay as he works to build the Pitt men's soccer program. Mike worked hard here at Penn State and we appreciate the effort he put forth to try and improve the program. We wish Michael the best."
