WINTHROP, Mass. - For third time this season, senior Celine Whitlinger (Garden Grove, Calif.) has been named the College Hockey America (CHA) Goalie of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. Whitlinger has received the honor nine times as a Nittany Lion.
Last Friday night, Whitlinger stopped all 23 shots en route to a 3-0 victory for the Blue and White against Lindenwood. Whitlinger's shutout performance was the third of her season and sixth of her career.
Whitlinger currently leads the CHA in save percentage (.945) and ranks second in goals against average (1.55).
The Nittany Lions close out the 2015-16 regular season this weekend against Mercyhurst. Puck drop inside the Mercyhurst Ice Center is set for 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
