FINAL STATISTICS

Bloomington, Ind. -- A slow start the Penn State women's basketball program down early, as Indiana collected a 76-55 victory on Saturday afternoon inside Assembly Hall. The Lady Lions (11-18, 6-12 B1G) shot just 37 percent in the contest, while the Hoosiers (20-10, 12-6 B1G) hit on 45 percent of their shots from the field.

Senior Brianna Banks (Newnan, Ga.) was the team's leading scorer with 13 points, adding a career-high-tying seven rebounds. It is the 22nd double-digit scoring effort for Banks, while she pulled down seven rebounds for the third time in 2015-16. She also handed out two assists and had two of the team's three steals in the game.

Freshman Teniya Page (Chicago, Ill.) paced the squad with six assists -- her 11th game with five-or-more assists this season -- to go along with seven points and two rebounds.

Junior Peyton Whitted (Suwanee, Ga.) scored eight points and pulled down seven rebounds -- tying for team-high with Banks. Sophomore Lindsey Spann (Laurel, Md.) tallied eight points , while freshman Jaylen Williams (Easton, Mass.) scored a career-best seven points to go along with three rebounds and two blocked shots.

Indiana jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead, as Penn State came up empty on its first four possessions of the opening frame. A Candice Agee (Victorville, Calif.) layup opened the scoring for Penn State, but Indiana eventually pushed the lead to 11 points, 16-5, on an Amanda Cahill three-pointer. After making just one field goal over the first seven minutes of the first quarter, Penn State made a pair of shots down the stretch, but IU notched five points to end the opening 10 minutes with a 21-9 lead.

The second quarter started with a Penn State basket, but Indiana would outscore the Lady Lions 21-10 in the frame to take a 44-19 edge into the break. The Hoosiers shot 47 percent in the opening frame, while Penn State hit just 27 percent of its shots from the field.

The Lady Lions notched 18 points in each of the final two quarter to outscore the Hoosiers, 36-32, over the final 20 minutes to account for the final margin of 76-55.

Penn State will await the results of the final five games of the Big Ten regular season before pairings and game times are set for the Big Ten Tournament. The Lady Lions will be the No. 11 seed, beginning play on Wednesday, March 2 against the No. 14 seed in the second game of the day inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
